Hey all,
I'd like to know what is the ideal compressibility/compression strength of the polyurethane foam for boards. On us blanks' site, i have seen there's a lot, but they do not mention numbers so i don't know the range.
Until now, i used EPS, which is about 200kPa and i can only get PU foam around 130 kPa which i guess i too soft for a surfboard, since PU is said to be harder than EPS, am i right?

So, i was just thinking about Trump's new plan of action to create more US manufacturers in general and have anyone importing from overseas pay large tariffs on incoming products. Will this possibly have an impact on the surfboard industry? So with 80-90% of boards coming from overseas will we see a decrease in years to come? And is now the time for the larger US companies to think about ramping up production? Just spit ballin.
I have recently shut down my glass shop and full scale production but still have demand for small batch work (aprox. 5-10 boards every 4 months or so). I am looking for a shop to take on this production. Blanks would arrive cut and would require scrubbing. Any leads? I am happy to discuss details via dm.

I live in Santa Cruz and my local shop that sells me glassing supplies is closed for remodel, and I am trying to purchase a gallon of UV curing polyester laminating resin. Any suggestions on a website I can order it from....Thanks

Business has increased and orders are piling up. Established surfboard factory/core surf shop in Camarillo, CA needs part-time help in all phases of surfboard construction and repair. We do everything from open-ocean paddle boards to 48” belly boards, and everything in between. Experience with EPS/epoxy construction a plus. Twenty hours a week to start, with potential for full-time for the right person. Shop is located right off the Hwy101 between Camarillo and Oxnard. Professional references are expected. My high ass used laminating resin instead of surfacing resin while installing the leash cup. Any advice on how to make her sand flush?
Anyone know of any jobs floating around.
