Two-Way Radios for Surf Support Teams

This isn't about boards, but is related to the sport.
For various events, if you're a coordinator or part of a team, communications are key.
Many have found that using two-way radios for spotting or coordinating team support are an invaluable tool.
The TERA TR-505 GMRS MURS Two-Way Radio is a rugged, commercial-grade device that will give you much better performance than the disposable FRS/GMRS radios you get at the superstore or most sports stores. As well, the VHF MURS band is much better for outdoor operations than UHF GMRS, and this radio will do both.
As well, the TR-505 can be programmed to receive the NOAA Weather/All Hazards Emergency stations, which during non-emergencies, offer weather and surf/tide/wind conditions (all over the US), which is a great tool for checking the latest weather information.

My name is Archie and I'm the founder of Surfbuds, a young start-up based in LA working on making a wireless solution for listening to music while surfing (or doing any other water sports activities). The project is at an early stage, but I already raised some money for prototyping and we are starting to work on design next week. New layout square by Sanded Australia and Gearbox Surf

Just thought you guys might be interested what we have been working on.
When we decided to add a Layout Square to our product range we wanted a Square that you could reduce other tools in the shaping room and use this instead!
So we sat down with Robin Mair from Gearbox Surf/ Hanalei fins and worked out everything you would need to put fins in and measurements while building a board. After a lot of protos we came to this design. This Aussie Made Layout Square was the result!
So whats different to other layout squares?
Its bigger - 14 inch instead of 12 inch so when doing Quads and other fin placements you can do all your measurements without moving the square, reducing time and mistakes. we still wanted to the measurements "Foot from the tail/ Foot from the nose" measurements because of the laser cuts wide enough to put your pencil in. Its strong! Made from Polycarbonate instead of Acrylic so if you drop it, harder to break. You can actually use it to measure in the fin placements!! Laser cuts to fit your pencil and a hole to put your guide on the rail so both side fins can be exactly the same angle and measurement. Being for Australia and Hawaii, Inches and CM measurements.
Pretty stoked on how it came out, and how good its to use.

Seeking reputable resource for vac bagging

Anybody in our group know a reliable resource for vac bagging surfboards?
I've got a customer who wants a wood veneer construction over Superfused EPS foam. Possible wood choice ranges from Paulownia, Redwood, Cedar, or Balsa.
Once shaped I need someone with EXPERIENCE to get the blank vac bagged with the selected veneer. I want someone that has done this before and can offer me any guidelines for the nose & tail sections if they need special treatment before or after the veneer is attached.

3D Scans for fins? Asking for Halcyon

Hello Swaylocks! Any of you know of a good contact for hi res 3D scans? Mr. Rich Sanders has been helping me with my own fin design efforts, he's also been asking if I can help him get his fin creations scanned. He's actually working on a couple sets right now.
I've been working on my own fins project in recent years, and now we're collaborating. In my case, I'm using CAD to take airfoils and 3D print high volume (high lift) fin shapes. My friends love them, they notice a lot more drive and turning ability in normal surf - more top turns, easier to launch airs, more hold and control in critical sections. I tried them last summer at Uluwatu and GLand, they worked fine but their top speed was lacking in those waves.

I was the principal supplier of the PU foam system and the designer of the moulds and manufacturing plant to King Mac Foam in Mexico.
The materials we use are of premium quality and sourced worldwide to achieve the best result and all the components in the foam system come together in our quest to have the notable quality which have obviously been achieved.
The supply of our foam system will be complemented with any and all technical advice to achieve the best result, ‘a packaged deal’.
In the last 50 years that I have been formulating foam and blowing blanks the only people that can and will survive in the supply of foam system is the manufacturer who formulates the foam itself. A lot of attempts have been made from system only suppliers and subsequently failed because of not being able to blow their own blanks in their own moulds.
